Freedom for Jose Maria Sison!
The Party of the Committees to Support Resistance – for Communism expresses its strongest solidarity to Jose Maria Sison, arrested by Dutch State Authorities, and to the New Democratic Front of the Philippines, for the brutal repressive campaign they are undergoing, with house searches and confiscation of computers, in conformity to the style well known also in Italy, where it has been carried out against our Party and against all Italian communist, revolutionary and anti-imperialist movement.
Sison is a political refugee in Netherlands since 1987. He is chairman of the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS), and one of the major exponents of international communist movement.
The attack against him and the democratic organizations of Philippine people confirms that also in the so called “democratic” Europe the imperialist bourgeoisie hasn’t any other resources but repression for making stand its system, a system that can’t offer the popular masses anything but misery, oppression and war.
The Dutch State arrests Sison and attacks the Philippine democratic and progressive movement on order of Philippine government of Gloria Arroyo, backed by US imperialists. More than 900 people, exponents of democratic, trade unionists and civil right movement, women, elder people, children, are been killed in the last five years by the army, the police, paramilitary squads, within a campaign that can have only the government major ruling organs as instigators and organizers- No government of the imperialist States has even denounced the problem. Here in Italy, a year ago Veltroni, Rome Mayor, candidate to rule the new “democratic Party”, floodlit the Coliseum for celebrating Gloria Arroyo and her government, who had “abolished death penalty”. He celebrates a government that declares the abolition of death penalty while it’s killing the best exponents of democratic, trade unionist and progressive movement, as the fascists did in Italy in the last century.
The imperialist governments celebrate Arroyo’s murderous regime, and carry out its orders, persecuting who dedicate their life to the defence of popular masses’ interests.
We say to Philippine comrades that the communists, the revolutionaries, the anti-imperialists, the best members of the popular masses of our country are on their side. Your struggle is our struggle, and Fascism will be defeated.
We invite all communists, revolutionaries, anti-imperialists and true democratic people to express their solidarity to Philippine people and its representative persecuted, and to give attention to what is happening that makes us realize both the shame and falsity of imperialist States governments, and the greatness and strength of those who fight them.
